Poster Contest

2019

This year’s theme is

General Information: The contest has five categories: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. The Gulf Coast Soil and Water Conservation District will award the following prizes in each category: 1st Place- $50.00, 2nd Place- $25.00, and 3rd Place- $10.00. Each categories 1st place local district winner will be entered in the state competition, which will be judged by a small panel of judges. In the state competition 1st winners will be awarded with $75.00 and 2nd place winners will receive $50.00. The 1st place winners in the state contest will be sent to the national poster competition, where they will compete in the national level. National 1st place winners receive $100 and 2nd place winners receive $75.

The local contest will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019; therefore, entry deadline will be Monday, November 11, 2019 by 4:00pm.

The state contest will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2019.

This year’s theme is:

The State Poster Contest for 2018 was held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Lake Charles USDA Service Center. The judges this year were: Mrs. Raquel Landry, Mrs. Andrea Gorum and Mr. Kurt Coleman The judges were presented with 20 entries from 9 districts.

Local Level

The Annual Poster Contest for 2018 was held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Lake Charles USDA Service Center. The judges this year were: Ms. Brittany Bourg (Assistant Extension Agent at the Cameron Parish LSU AgCenter), Ms. Meghan Moser (NRCS Soil Conservationist), and Mr. Dylan Trahan (Vegetative Technician for Gulf Coast SWCD). The judges were presented with 50 total entries from the following school(s):

1. Individual Submissions (3)

2. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School (15)

3. Western Heights Elementary (2)

4. CPSB College Prep (30)

The Annual Poster Contest for 2017 was held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Lake Charles USDA Service Center. The judges this year were: Ms. Brittany Bourg (Assistant Extension Agent at the Cameron Parish LSU AgCenter), Ms. Meghan Moser (NRCS Soil Conservationist), and Mr. Bradley Pousson (Extension Agent at the Cameron Parish LSU AgCenter). The judges were presented with 16 total entries from the following school(s):
