WHO WE ARE
The Gulf Coast Soil and Water Conservation District comprises all of Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes located in Southwest Louisiana. The district was formed in 1945, and its goals are to coordinate conservation activities and educational programs, and to provide technical assistance to landowners and units of government on the use of their soil, water, and related resources. The district board is composed of 5 supervisors.

FUNCTION
To take available technical, financial and educational resources, whatever their source, and or focus coordinate them so that they may meet the needs of the local land manager with conservation of the soil, water, and related natural resources.
WE SERVE
Land users, Land owners, Consultants, Schools, Civic and Professional Organizations, and local governing bodies such as Police Juries and Drainage Districts within Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes.
WHY
The District is a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana that provides aid to the Federal Government by addressing natural resource concerns at a local level.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Gulf Coast Soil and Water Conservation District provides technical assistance to District Co-operators and others through education, planning, and implementation of sound conservation practices to treat critical natural resource concerns.
